Jago Party was founded in August 2007 by Shri Deepak Mittal, who was born in Haryana and now a businessman based in Hyderabad. The party got registered with Election Commission in January 2008.
Jago Party has attracted a number of non-political persons, such as businessmen, ex-IAS officers, advocates, doctors, IT professionals etc. They felt the need to enter politics because all the existing political parties are doing politics based on caste, religion, language, province etc. There is a lack of principled, logical thinking and national orientation in these parties. We decided to set up a party which is clear on its ideology and thinks only in terms of national interest.
There is no point in just criticizing politicians. If good persons do not enter politics, bad persons will. Jago Party is an open invitation for good and committed persons to enter politics. It is our declared policy that we will not give tickets to anyone with criminal cases pending in courts.
Jago Party is an all India party which has got over 2 lakh supporters from across the country till now.
Jago Party contested 26 seats in Rajasthan Assembly election, 2008. It came third in 2 constituencies - Kota (South) and Udaipur. It came 4th in 5 constituencies. Jago Party also contested 17 seats in Lok Sabha election, 2009 and got about 0.5% votes.

Jago Party has openly declared its basic policies under the head Mission. Those who agree are welcome to support and join us. Those who do not agree are welcome to leave us, as we are not going to dilute our basic ideology to appease a section of people.

2. Hang terrorists, murderers, rapists & corrupts; Judgments in 3 months.
3. All voters will get Rs 800 p.m. in lieu of subsidies.
4. 24 hrs electricity & comfortable train journey through privatization; less government activities & more private enterprises.
5. No Income Tax up to Rs 4 lakh; Reduction in the number and rates of taxes.
