Some people have recently started a campaign to make India 100% swadeshi. They want that our industries, technology, education, healthcare, language, food, dress : everything must be swadeshi. Is 100% swadeshi good for India?
Jago Party has always championed the idea of less tax, more private enterprises and direct transfer of cash to the poor. From that point of view, the Union Budget 2011-12 has some good points.
Jago Party has always been of the view that the present subsidy delivery system of the government is utterly corrupt, wasteful and inefficient. It has not helped the poor because a big portion of subsidized goods [65% of PDS foodgrains, for example] gets diverted to black market owing to price differentials.
The Union Budget 2010-11 aims at 9% growth rate or more in the backdrop of estimated growth rate of 7.2% during 2009-10 and actual growth rate of 6.7% during 2008-09.
Growth of economy is good for everyone – it leads to more demand, more supply, more employment, higher standard of living and reduction in poverty.
